It is important, after surgery, to remain inactive for two to three days. Because upper body activity and even the motions involved in driving can cause stress to the operative area, which could mean hemorrhaging or slippage of the implant, avoid these activities for at least a week. Also avoid raising your arms over your head for at least two weeks.

Your breasts will commonly feel firm for several weeks following the surgery. This is due to swelling and subsides as the healing process proceeds. It usually takes several weeks or more for breasts to achieve their final appearance. In general, if the implant is inserted under the chest muscle, it can take up to six weeks to fully recover.
